Corporate partner Tom Mercer recognised in The Lawyers Hot 100

    London-based corporate partner Tom Mercer has been recognised as one of The Lawyer's Hot 100, a list which comprises the "the standout lawyers in the UK – the most daring, innovative and creative lawyers from in-house, private practice and the Bar."

    Tom, who advises UK and overseas corporates and financial institutions on a range of M&A, corporate finance and governance matters, has played a key role in developing Ashurst's roster of listed clients and has a strong reputation for large cap public M&A.

    In the past year, Tom has advised:

    • Ladbrokes Coral on its £3.9 billion takeover by GVC Holdings;
    • Volcan Investments on its US$3 billion recommended offer for Vedanta Resources;
    • Interserve on its group refinancing and rescue plan;
    • Faroe Petroleum on DNO's £608 million hostile offer;
    • MedicX on its £393m merger with Primary Health Properties; and
    • Evercore Partners, J.P. Morgan and Nomura in relation to Takeda Pharmaceutical Company’s £46 billion recommended offer for Shire.
