The WIPL UK awards recognise top female lawyers who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in the past year.

Chelsea won the Rising Star in Diversity Change award in recognition for her work in leading creative Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging ('IDB') events at the firm, including the 'Black and Gay Back in the Day' event, an exhibition-style showcase, allowing attendees to interactively engage with the topic.

Commenting on the news, Chelsea said: "I am so honoured to have won the Rising Star in Diversity Change award. Combatting diversity fatigue and keeping Black lawyer progression on the agenda is crucial in order to drive substantiative change in our industry, and I'm grateful to Ashurst for maintaining that momentum and giving me a platform."

Nicole Williams, counsel and global IDB co-head, added: “We are delighted that Chelsea has been recognised at WIPL. Chelsea is a trailblazer whose passion for change inspires both those more senior to her and the next generation of legal professionals.”
