Ashurst today announces that partners Karen Davies, James Marshall and Barbara Phair have been elected to the Board for a term of three years.

Karen Davies is a corporate partner in London. Joining Ashurst in 2011, Karen became a partner in 2012 and she has extensive experience in advising both corporate clients and investment banks on a full range of domestic and cross-border corporate finance transactions. Karen specialises in M&A and ECM work.
James Marshall is a restructuring, insolvency and special situations partner in Sydney. He joined the firm in 1989 and became a partner in 1997. James specialises in advising lenders and creditors to help manage their credit risk; advising parties who are active in the secondary debt markets; advising boards in relation to the financial restructuring of distressed companies; and distressed M&A.
Barbara Phair has been a tax partner in the firm's Sydney office since 2000, after joining the firm in 1986. Barbara has extensive expertise in the areas of stamp duty, payroll, land tax and GST. She has a recognised expertise in advising on the implications of indirect tax legislation across a broad range of transactions including business sales, financial transactions, property acquisitions and cross-border dealings.

The election is part of the normal rotation of Board members ahead of the terms of partners Jennie Mansfield, Angela Pearson and Roger Davies concluding. 
The Board comprises chairman Ben Tidswell (London), vice chairman Mary Padbury (Melbourne), managing partner Paul Jenkins (London/Sydney), partners Roger Davies (Perth), Bernd Egbers (Munich), Jennie Mansfield (Sydney), Angela Pearson (London), Jason Radford (London) and chief financial and operating officer Jan Gooze-Zijl (London) and independent board members Robert Gillespie and David Turner.
