Change100 brings together the UK's top employers and talented disabled students and graduates to offer three months of paid work experience.

Since its launch in 2014, Change 100 has placed more than 250 interns with 90 employers across the UK. The programme is available to students in their penultimate or final year or recent graduates with a long term health condition or disability.

For the 2018 programme, Change 100 received over 800 applications from across the UK, 400 successful candidates were invited to assessment centres in Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London and Manchester and 90 employers offered a total of 170 offers.

The successful intern will work within the HR department of Ashurst's Glasgow office, where they will have full support from their appointed line manager and will also have an appointed mentor.

Carolyn O'Connor, HR Manager for Early Careers in Scotland said:

"We are thrilled to work with Change100 to offer this opportunity. Our aim is to attract the best talent to our business and create an inclusive workplace.  Talent comes from all different backgrounds and allowing employees to be themselves at work breeds creativity which reflects our firm's values."

Deborah Dalgleish, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, commented:

"Ashurst is committed to providing staff with disabilities the support necessary to place them on a level playing field.  Supporting the physical and mental health of our partners and staff is an integral part of our role as a responsible employer and allows us to recruit and retain the best talent."

Ashurst is committed to increasing awareness of physical and mental health issues in the workplace, reducing the stigma associated with the sharing of any disability and contributing to the sense of community for everyone.
