The team was also a finalist in the Advisory Excellence Award. Partners Angus Foley, Olivia Lau and Krista Payne co-led the team that was recognised with the Advisory Excellence Award for advising Transport for NSW on the Sydney Metro Martin Place Integrated Station Development. Ashurst advised on the unsolicited proposal by Macquarie Group to design and deliver a new station development in Martin Place, Sydney’s first integrated metro station development, with office space and a vibrant retail and recreation precinct.
Angus Foley said:
"It is wonderful to have been recognised for the part we played in these high-calibre projects, which are transforming the infrastructure and transport landscape in Sydney. It shows the strength and breadth of our practice to have been acknowledged in two categories, and affirms our place as a market-leading transport and infrastructure adviser."
Krista Payne commented:
"We are thrilled to have been recognised at the National Infrastructure Awards for our role advising on the Martin Place Integrated Development for the Sydney Metro project. The Advisor Excellence Award recognises the innovative and collaborative approach taken by the parties to manage a complicated and highly structured transaction through a multi-departmental government unsolicited proposal process."
Olivia Lau added:
"It is an honour to be recognised by our peers as a leading infrastructure legal advisor in the market. Our role has contributed to changing the way infrastructure projects are being procured and delivered. We are committed to continuing our involvement in transforming Sydney into a world class city."
