Ashurst recognised at ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2020
Leading global law firm Ashurst is named Labour and Employment Law Firm of the Year at the ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2020. It has also won Debt Market Deal of the Year (Premium), for its role advising the joint bookrunners and lead managers on the US$950 million green high yield bond, issued by Greenko Solar (Mauritius) Limited.
The transaction was the largest corporate green bond issuance in Asia and largest high yield bond issuance from India in 2019. It has also won Debt Capital Markets Deal of the Year at the IFLR1000 India Awards 2020.
Stephen Woodbury, global head of employment, commented, "This is a great testimony to the team's hard work in delivering the highest level of client service. We could not have achieved this outcome without our key strength, our team of dedicated employment law specialists in Singapore, led by Karen Mitra, and our colleagues within the Ashurst global network. We will continue the great work for our clients in coming years."
Global head of high yield Anna-Marie Slot added, "The Greenko bond offering is one of the very few high yield deals that has a sustainability aspect attached and is a green bond. It is a fantastic example that showcases our deep knowledge of the Asia market and expertise in sustainable finance. We would like to thank Greenko and our clients for their ongoing support, and we look forward to achieving further successful results."
The ALB SE Asia Law Awards pay tribute to the outstanding performance of private practitioners and in-house teams across Southeast Asia region.
