Ashurst continues to grow New York office and US securities law team with hire of Evan Hillman

    Global law firm Ashurst announces the appointment of Evan Hillman as counsel in its Global Structured Products practice, based in New York, as the firm continues to invest in growing its New York team and US securities law capabilities.

    Evan's practice focuses on securities regulation, corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management. Prior to joining Ashurst, Evan was a senior managing associate at Sidley Austin, which included a secondment to Goldman Sachs, as well as serving as counsel in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Royal Bank of Canada.

    Evan has broad experience advising clients on registered and unregistered structured note offerings, systemic trading strategies (STS), ensuring that new underliers and investment products meet suitability and disclosure requirements, negotiating dealer and commercial agreements, and general securities and compliance issues.

    Lloyd Harmetz, a partner in the Global Structured Products practice, added: "Evan will be a fantastic addition to the team.
