Ashurst celebrates 20 years in Germany

    First opening an office in 1997 in Frankfurt, the firm's Munich office was opened shortly after in 2001. Over the last 20 years the firm has grown from a team of 10 lawyers to becoming one of the leading players in the German legal market.

    Commenting, managing partner of Germany, Tobias Krug, said:

    • Commerzbank on the sales of Commerzbank International Trust (Singapore) Limited, Allianz Dresdner Bauspar, Dresdner Bank Monaco, Privatinvest Bank, Kleinwort Benson, Dresdner Van Moer Courtens, Reuschel & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft, Dresdner Bank (Schweiz), Commerzbank (Schweiz) and Dresdner VPV.
    • Bain Capital on the sale of Jack Wolfskin.
    • Joint venture between Beiersdorf and Smith & Nephew
    • AVIC on the takeover of KHD – the first German public takeover of a German listed company by a Chinese state-owned company.
    • Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Motor Europe on the acquisition of its German and French wholesalers from the Swiss Emil Frey Group.
    • STADA's capital increase - one of the largest capital increases in that year
    • Cerberus on the acquisition of 45 Metro stores in 2011, refinancing in 2015 and sale of 39 stores in 2017
