Ashurst announces new Board appointment

    Ashurst announces that partner Sarah Sivyour has been elected to the Board, with effect from 15 October.

    Sarah is a partner in the global real estate practice based in London and joined the firm as trainee in 2000. She acts for UK and international investors and developers with a particular focus on corporate real estate transactions and international joint ventures. Sarah is the UK Training Principal in London, responsible for the training, development and qualification of the trainees in London and she is also a member of the firm's risk committee.

    Chairman Ben Tidswell commented:

    "I would like to congratulate Sarah on her appointment. She has excellent leadership credentials and her experience and insight will be a considerable asset as we drive forward our business. I am confident she will make a significant contribution to the Board and will add real value in guiding the firm forwards."

    The election follows the appointment of partner Jason Radford as head of the firm's corporate division, after Robert Ogilvy Watson finished his term as division head and returned to full time fee earning earlier this year. Upon becoming a member of the Executive Team, Jason was required by the firm's governance rules to step down from the Board.

    Leadership of the firm's four divisions, comprises:

    • Corporate - Jason Radford
    • Finance, funds and restructuring - Jamie Ng
    • Projects and Real Estate - Geoff Gishubl
    • Strategic Advisory - Lea Constantine and Simon Bromwich

    The Board comprises chairman Ben Tidswell (London), managing partner Paul Jenkins (London/Sydney), Barbara Phair (Sydney), Bernd Egbers (Munich), James Marshall (Sydney), Karen Davies (London), Sarah Sivyour (London), and chief financial and operating officer Jan Gooze-Zijl (London) and independent board members David Turner and Robert Gillespie.
