ReNew Energy Global plc is India's top pure-play renewable energy company and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world and the issuance was classified as a green bond issuance. The issuer was a special purpose vehicle established to make specific investments in external commercial borrowings issued to finance renewable energy sector projects in India.

With the completion of this issuance, Ashurst's high yield team has advised on a total of $1.4 billion of green bond issuances since December 2021.

The team was led by global head of high yield Anna-Marie Slot, with support from counsel Natalia Sokolova and senior associates Eileen Kelly and Elizabeth Friedman. Partners Sharon Kim and Jacques McChesney also advised together with counsel Ethan Perry.

"We were pleased to work with ReNew and continue to advise on sustainable finance transactions as Indian renewables companies provide the resources to assist India in transitioning to a sustainable energy future,"  said Anna-Marie Slot.
