In August 2017, the UK's Competition & Markets Authority ("CMA") issued directions requiring compliance with remedies introduced following two recent market investigations. The first direction, issued on 2 August 2017, was addressed to Co-operative Bank for having failed to provide its personal current account customers with information concerning maximum monthly charges for overdrafts. The second direction, issued on 31 August 2017, was separately addressed to seven hospitals for having failed to make sufficient progress towards providing information about the quality of their services.
