Conventional power

We advise on the development, financing, operation, acquisition and privatisation of independent power projects (IPPs) worldwide.

Our expertise covers power purchase agreements, fuel supply arrangements and all the associated construction and operation sub-contracts, commercial bank financings, ECA-led and Islamic financings for power generation assets, and transmission and distribution businesses.


We advise on the unique issues regarding the development and construction of new-build nuclear generation capacity.

Our experience includes nuclear-specific construction and finance issues, international and national nuclear liability law, regulatory frameworks and state aid issues. We also have market-leading experience in the decommissioning and waste management sectors.

Waste and Biomass

In the last ten years, our waste and biomass team has closed over 40 projects across the globe that will process over 4 million tonnes per annum of municipal/merchant waste and biomass, generating over 550MW of renewable electricity. The team is widely recognised as a market leader in the sector.


We act for all participants in water and waste water utility projects.  We advise on the development and financing of water and waste projects, which includes large-scale desalination in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia, and our expertise also covers the broader regulated water utilities sector.
