Paul O'Donnell is a partner in the banking finance insolvency and tax group in Sydney.
Paul is an experienced tax practitioner with specialist expertise
in income tax, consulting mainly in the area of structured, asset
and project financing and debt restructuring.
He has significant experience advising on the corporate tax affairs
of Australian and foreign owned banking groups. With a focus
on business and investment banking and funds management, Paul
advises clients on all income tax aspects of financing and
refinancing acquisition and reconstruction of assets and businesses
and the disposal of assets and businesses.
Paul's other areas of specialist expertise are infrastructure
financing and debt reconstruction projects.
Paul is recognised as a key individual with a "very good analytical
mind for tax" in Chambers Asia-Pacific, 2013 and is also
recognised in Best Lawyers 2013, World Tax 2013 and 2012 APL 500.
Prior to joining us in February 2007, Paul was a tax partner with
Ernst & Young for 12 years and is currently adjunct Professor
of Taxation Law at the University of Sydney.
