Ashurst was named Property Team of the Year at the British Legal
Awards 2012, organised by Legal Week and held on 22 November 2012
at London's Old Billingsgate Market.
Ashurst's real estate team
received the award, together with Eversheds, in recognition of its
work advising the developer, Sellar Property on the redevelopment
of the London Bridge Quarter (The Shard and The Place).
The Shard, together with the 17 storey neighbouring building The
Place, makes up the 1.5 million square feet of mixed-use space
known as London Bridge Quarter. The £1.5 billion new commercial
district is located at one of London's most significant transport
interchanges and will transform and upgrade London Bridge station
and the surrounding area.
Commenting on the award, Ashurst's head of real estate, Richard Vernon said:
