Drawing on her background in securities offerings and her previous experience as the acting Chief Operating Officer of the bank loan syndication and trading desk at Goldman Sachs, Julia focuses her practice on derivatives, distressed debt and structured credit markets. Julia has deep experience in credit default swaps, total return swaps, options and other credit and equity derivatives transactions and related regulatory issues. She has advised clients in connection with well-known events affecting CDS referencing Sears, Hovnanian, Windstream, iHeartCommunications, Caesars Entertainment, among many others, as well as successfully led submissions of an amicus brief (Sears) and a winning brief (Caesars) to the ISDA Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee External Review Panel.
Leveraging her broad experience and detailed knowledge of bankruptcy and regulatory issues, Julia also acts for clients in obtaining or providing financing in the form of repo, swaps, secured loans or other bespoke structures, as well as in secondary market transactions relating to bank loans and bankruptcy claims in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
Julia is a Market Expert on the Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance (P.R.I.M.E. Finance), an innovative collaboration established to help resolve and assist judicial systems in the resolution of disputes concerning complex financial transaction.
She also served as the acting general counsel for Gro Intelligence, Inc., an artificial intelligence and data analytics company based in New York and Nairobi and focused on agriculture and climate change.
Julia is admitted to the New York State Bar.
